5 Tourist Traps In New York City Worth the Hype

null

This is coming to you straight from a New Yorker himself! So you know it's real! Let's go NYC! The great place in the world! These are our top 5 beautiful tourist traps in NYC that are actually worth the hype:

1. The Brooklyn Bridge

Brooklyn Bridge, New York, NY 10038

One of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States and an icon in New York, thousands of people flock to see the bridge everyday. The bridge connects from Dumbo Brooklyn to lower Manhattan. When I visited, I was really excited to walk the bridge for the first time. As soon as you step foot on to the bridge you can see the best view of the Manhattan skyline. If you look below, you can see cars drive by and taxis speed by as if they were racing against time. We recommend going early in the morning to get the best pictures and avoid the masses of tourists who will show up later in the day!

2. Top of The Rock

30 Rockefeller Plaza, New York, NY 10020

While walking along Fifth Avenue, we stopped at the Top of the Rock. Top of the Rock is located in Rockefeller Plaza where you’re taken up to the top of the building to take in the beauty of Manhattan from above! During the holiday season the rock plays host to the Rockefeller Christmas Tree and the Rockets. From above you can see Central Park, the Chrysler and Empire State buildings, the 59th Street Bridge and other famous landmarks. Yes, it really did cost us $74.04 for two of us to go. And yes, it is worth every penny! They have sucked every tourist into pay these outrageous prices but we will pay it to get even a minute of this gorgeous view!

3. The Bronx Zoo

2300 Southern Blvd, Bronx, NY 10460

We learned that the Bronx Zoo is the largest metropolitan zoo in the world, with over 6,000 animals. I saw lions, tigers, bears, and peacocks; this place was truly stunning. I urge you to go to the Bronx Zoo because it truly is a sight to see. The only downfall is it’s not in the best neighborhood, but it’s worth going out of your way to visit. It’s definitely nothing to worry over tons of tourists visit this Zoo everyday and love every second of it! However, we don’t recommend wandering around outside of the Zoo.

4. Coney Island

1000 Surf Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11224

Jose calls this, “The ghetto Disneyland.” Coney Island is a city, located in Brooklyn, known for its amusement park. It’s a place where people can share unforgettable memories with the ones they love while riding the Wonder Wheel (a Ferris wheel), taking a walk on the boardwalk to admire the sunrise and sunset, or enjoying a delicious hot dog at Nathan’s Famous. Although it’s no Disneyland it’s still a great amusement park and a great place for a family to spend the afternoon.

Quick tip: When walking on the sandy beach please be cautious of needles in the sand!

5. The Statue of Liberty

New York, NY 10004

As expected with every tourist trap this one is expensive. To get to the island you have to go on their boats, and their boats are crowded. Once you arrive on the island there is nothing else there but Lady Liberty herself. But what makes this the most amazing thing to do in New York is to see our symbol of freedom up close and personal. This is what encouraged generations that they had a shot in the land of the free.

If you’re visiting New York these 5 tourists attractions are a must! Let us know which one is your favorite and what else you think belongs on this list! WE LOVE YOU NYC!
