Top 10 Things To Pack When Traveling International

pack international NEW (1 of 1).jpg

We love traveling! Jose and I are so perfect together because at any moment's notice we would gladly pack up everything and travel to somewhere new! But traveling international requires some preparation. We tried to make a list that included some items to invest in as well as some smaller items that you may not have thought of!

1. Carry On Suitcase

One thing I highly recommend when traveling internationally is carrying on your entire luggage. I know it’s hard to fit everything you need in a small bag no greater than  9 inches x 14 inches x 22 inches, but trust me it will be worth it! You won’t over pack, you won’t worry about your luggage being lost, and you will have a faster process through customs. I highly recommend this one, it’s really affordable, it’s very sturdy, and can hold clothes for a week travel.

2. Zip Wallet

I don’t like traveling with my normal wallet. I think it is very important to get a “travel” wallet. This wallet should zip close, be long enough to hold your boarding pass, train tickets, and cash. You don’t want to bring your normal wallet and have it stolen or ruined on the trip. I recommend this one. It is waterproof, zips close, and has a ton of room for all your cards, boarding passes, transportation tickets, and even your phone.

3. International Adapter

The worse thing to do when traveling internationally is getting to your destination and realizing you forgot to buy an adapter. Sometimes it can be very hard to find or you won’t be able to get one until the next day and your phone or camera will be dead. I bought this one.I loved the bright color, it’s easy to spot, comes with a case, and you can power up in over 150 countries.

4. Light Weight Hooded Coat

When we traveled to Paris Jose and I both only brought one coat. It was lightweight enough for a slight breeze, but could also be layered with sweaters to keep us warm. I wore it on the plan so it didn’t take up room in my suitcase. I recommend bringing a coat with a hood. I brought my green military coat. I recommend this one!

5. Backpack with Laptop Section

I brought my Northface backpack with a padded section to keep my laptop safe while traveling. I was able to keep all of my airplane necessities in here and put it under the seat in front of me. This is a big backpack that is great for travel.

6. Noise Cancelling Headphone

If you’re traveling internationally chances are you’re going to be on an airplane for more than 6 hours. That’s a lot of time to fill. Jose and I both have Beats headphones and they were a lifesaver. We were able to not only listen to music and watch movies, but also put them on when we wanted to go to sleep.

7. Sleep Mask

When you’re trying to sleep but everyone around you is watching a movie it can be very d hard to fall asleep. We both brought sleeping masks, which helped us at least TRY to get on the correct time zone. Some even come with earplugs. I recommend,

8. Clorox Wipes

This may not be an essential for some, but it should be! We bought travel sized Clorox Wipes and we used them everywhere. We cleaned off the airplane trays we would be using for 20 hours, we cleaned the bathroom in our hotel, and we cleaned our phones after a day in a foreign country. And we also used them to clean our hands when we weren’t near any restrooms.

9. Small Cosmetic Waterproof Bag

I kept this small bag in my backpack when traveling and then in my purse when we reached our destination. It was amazing! I love the clear ones too because you can see exactly what you’re reaching for. In here I kept the travel Clorox Wipes, Advil, Dramamine in case either of us got nauseous, hand sanitizer, our sleeping masks, chap stick and mints. I was able to keep our small travel necessities in one place with easy access.

10. Hanging Toiletry Bag

I loved traveling with my hanging toiletry bag; it was a perfect space saver when we arrived at our hotel. It does not take up any counter space and everything I needed was already organized and together. This is a travel essential not just for international but any destination! I love this one because it also comes with silicon bottles to hold shampoo or body wash in a size small enough to take on a plane.

We hope this list helped and please let us know where your next destination is!
